Senior Architectural Designer
The Senior Architectural Designer will have extensive experience leading residential clients through all aspects of remodeling, addition, and new home architectural design. This position works directly with clients and project teams from design inception through construction completion while providing leadership, mentorship, and technical guidance to the Architectural Design team.
In this role, you must have high performance standards, enjoy solving complex design challenges, and be passionate about developing others within a supportive, collaborative work environment.
What We're Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or related field preferred.
- 8–10 years of residential design experience with a strong portfolio of additions, remodels, and new home projects.
- Proven ability to lead residential projects and client relationships from concept through construction.
- Strong understanding of the design-build process, including balancing design goals, construction requirements, budgets, and project constraints.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining quality, deadlines, and attention to detail.
- Experience coordinating consultants, contractors, and internal teams while proactively identifying and resolving project issues.
- Proven experience mentoring designers and reviewing work to ensure design excellence and technical accuracy.
- Proficiency in 2D/3D CAD drafting and modeling (Vectorworks preferred).
- Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively through drawings, 3D models, and written materials.
- Working knowledge of Wisconsin UDC, Energy Conservation Code, residential construction practices, structural evaluation, and real-world construction constraints.
- Basic computer and network competency beyond CAD/design software, including email, spreadsheets, databases, and word processing software. Apple Mac OS experience a plus.
- Licensure or active pursuit of architectural licensure preferred.
