We're seeking an experienced Residential Architectural Designer to lead projects, mentor team members, and help shape the future of our growing design practice. This is an opportunity to work directly with clients, collaborate closely with construction professionals, and see your designs successfully realized through completion.

What You'll Do

  • Lead residential design projects including custom homes, additions, and remodeling projects from concept through construction.
  • Guide clients through the design process, helping them translate ideas into practical and inspiring solutions.
  • Develop architectural drawings, construction documents, and 3D presentations.
  • Collaborate with in-house construction professionals, trusted consultants, and our team of subcontractors to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Balance design goals, budgets, schedules, and construction requirements while maintaining client satisfaction.
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and technical guidance to junior designers and team members.
  • Participate in project planning, problem-solving, and quality review throughout all phases of work.

What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
  • 8+ years of residential architectural design experience.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating custom homes, additions, and remodeling projects.
  • Experience leading projects from initial client meetings through construction completion.
  • Excellent communication and client relationship skills.
  • Proficiency with architectural CAD/BIM and 3D modeling software.
  • Strong understanding of residential construction methods, detailing, and documentation.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining quality and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture or a related field.
  • Architectural licensure or active pursuit of licensure.
  • Experience mentoring or leading design team members.
  • Familiarity with Wisconsin residential codes and residential construction practices.
  • Experience with Vectorworks or similar software.
